Chance to win Leeds United player's promotion winning season signed shirt and boots

Barry Douglas has donated one his prized shirts from Leeds United 's Championship winning season and a pair of boots to help the Mission Christmas toy appeal.

The shirt and boots are signed by Leeds players involved in the club's 2019/20 season when the club won promotion to the Premier League.

Douglas's generous gift has so far raised more than £4,000 for the Yorkshire Evening Post-backed Cash For Kids Pulse1 radio Mission Christmas appeal.

The appeal aims to make sure all disadvantaged children in Leeds and West Yorkshire have a present to open this Christmas.

Everyone making a donation on the Pulse1 Cash for Kids Mission Christmas sponsor Barry Douglas page (click here) will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win the shirt and boots.

Douglas will select a winner at random on December 20.

Douglas, whose contract with Leeds ends next summer, is on loan at Blackburn this season.

He said: "No child should go without at Christmas. So I’ve teamed up with Cash for Kids to try and raise as much money as possible to make sure we can help provide that little bit of Christmas magic to the less fortunate kids."

He added: "We are very fortunate and I just felt like I had to do something to give back.

"It has been an unbelievable response.I never expected it to take off as much as it has.

"I'm really grateful to everyone who has donated or spread the word."

Mission Christmas, which is the largest Christmas toy appeal in the UK, is an annual campaign run by Cash For Kids, which is supported by Bauer Radio’s regional stations, including Pulse 1.

People are being asked to buy one extra gift before Friday December 18 and hand it in to a number of drop off points, including Cash for KIds partner B&M's stores.

Collectively, Cash for Kids raised more than £20.9m in 2019 in gifts and donations which were distributed to more than a million disadvantaged children across the UK, including 26,143 in West Yorkshire.

Brand new and unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at any B&M, Wickes and Bensons for Beds.

Gifts can be donated at stores across Crown Point, including: Hobby Craft, Argos, Poundland, Specsavers, Card Factory, and New Look, all of which have donation boxes waiting to be filled with gifts.

This year Pulse 1’s Mission HQ, which acts as a hub for the receipt, sorting and distribution of gifts, is at The Store Room, Millshaw, Leeds LS11 8EG.
