Brutus Gold's Love Train returns to 'spiritual home' in Leeds for Christmas Disco Ball
It's the the ultimate interactive party which promises to transport disco, funk and soul fans back to the 1970s.
Brutus Gold’s Love Train has announced it will be returning to its “spiritual home” for a special Christmas show at 02 Academy Leeds this year.
Following a year devoid of live music, Brutus and his team were determined to pull out all the stops for the show’s long-awaited return to the stage scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 18.
Brutus Gold said: “Our fans can expect the ultimate escape. A party full of dancin’, romancin’ and takin’ a cha-cha-chancin’! My love train is a remedy for the masses; for when real life is not enough.”
Leeds has been a mainstay on The Love Train’s international tours since its beginnings in the late 1980s and it continues to play host to the iconic show, including a sell-out gathering in the summer of 2019 which brought together thousands of disco fans in Millennium Square.
Brutus Gold added: “Leeds is Disco Central! It’s my spiritual home in the U.K; all of my memories of the city are of happy, fun-loving people. I’m determined to get back on that stage for the people of Leeds; It’s where I belong!
“This Christmas has been a disappointment for so many, but in 2021 we’re gonna rebuild it. It will be bigger, stronger and faster than ever before!”
Brutus Gold introduced the world to The Love Train in 1989, sparking a revival of classic disco across the UK. With regular slots in cities including Edinburgh, Manchester and Leeds, the disco event quickly rose to prominence as one of the best club nights of its kind.
