The charity homes the animals, some of which arrived as they could no longer be cared for by their previous owner, at a centre in East Ardsley.
Regardless of how they end up there, the animals are cared for until a new home can be found. The RSPCA also offers advice to people who already own pets but may be struggling to cope with the cost of food or healthcare.
This week, our round-up includes Maple, a lively and loving four-month-old German Shepherd who, despite having had recent surgery, doesn’t let it slow her down.
Here are all of the cats and dogs currently being cared for at the centre that have not yet been matched up with the right owners –

13. Elis
Elis is an energetic and curious three-month-old kitten with a playful streak and a love for cuddles. He’s eager to find his forever home in time for his first Christmas. As he’s still young, Elis will need to stay indoors until he’s fully vaccinated and neutered, but he’s ready to bring joy and energy to his new family. | RSPCA

14. Haggler
Haggler is a four-year-old Patterdale Terrier with a lively, energetic personality. He came to the RSPCA after a difficult past but has recovered well and is seeking an experienced, active home. Haggler thrives on exercise and would excel in activities like scent work. He needs an adult-only home without other pets but could enjoy dog-walking friends in time. | RSPCA

15. Freddie
Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Freddie is a sweet natured and gentle boy who cannot wait to find his forever home and family. The two-year-old is looking for a quieter family who will be committed to his training and understand that he cannot be rushed as he loves to take things slow and steady and at a pace.
