Pedestrian dies after collision involving lorry on major road near Leeds

A pensioner has died after being involved in a collision with a lorry on a major road near Leeds.

Emergency services were called to the A58 Whitehall Road, Wyke, at 11am yesterday (Wednesday) following the crash.

A 68-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Police said the pedestrian was involved in a collision with a lorry, and have spoken to the vehicle driver who stopped at the scene.

Officers are now trying to trace anyone who witnessed the incident or the lead up to the collision.
