The crowds flocked to Otley Carnival to see the parades and pageantry.

The June 16 event saw Lily Cullen being crowned ‘Carnival Queen’ and The Whartons Primary School winning for the best float or walking group in the parade. The school won the Lyon Landscapes Challenge Shield for its ‘Our Beautiful Planet’ display. The parade was led by Otley Bellman Terry Ford and included a range of classic vehicles.

Other attraction included Hawkeye Falconry, Footloose dance display and Weston Lane Junior Football Club’s display and penalty shootout. The crowds were entertained by a range of musicians on their way to the carnival field, including performances from the City of Leeds Pipe Band and Otley Town Brass Band.
