Wishing YEP readers a very merry Christmas - and congratulations to our Christmas stars

It would be so easy to get hung up on the endless negatives that this year has thrown at us.

It’s an understatement to say 2020 hasn’t been a stellar year - it has been tough and has challenged every single one of us in a way like never before.

But today the Yorkshire Evening Post is dedicating its front page to honour those shining stars who have truly sparkled in the face of adversity.

So many people across the city have gone above and beyond to support others this year.

Their generosity and spirit of strength has shone brightly. It is their acts of kindness, facing adversity head on to raise awareness and, above all, supporting their fellow human beings, that should be applauded.

It is that sense of selflessness and kindness that truly encapsulates the spirit of Christmas.

All that is left for me to say is thank you from the team here at the YEP for all of your support during this tumultuous year.
