A-level results day is always a mixture of emotions as it signals the culmination of years of hard work.

But this year the outcome has been very different as many students couldn’t even sit their final exams due to the pandemic.

While some students still got the grades they needed to go onto university, further studies or work - others have been left disappointed with schools and colleges now looking at appeals processes after thousands of pupils’ results were downgraded.

Instead of looking to the future many are now left worried and frustrated about what the downgrading of their results will mean for them.

Several A-Level schools and colleges have since vowed to appeal against results but this has left so many students in a state of limbo.

That level of uncertainty creates a real risk of a Covid Generation being left behind and fearful that they could lose out on opportunities for their futures.
