Why Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa deserves the highest praise - the YEP says

Not only has Marcelo Bielsa shepherded the team back to the Premier League, he’s also become the first Whites manager to win the coveted LMA Championship Manager of the Year award since it was introduced in 1994.

And it’s more than well-deserved for his efforts in transforming Leeds from a mid-table team into a Premier League squad in just two years.

Yet despite this Bielsa still refuses to take all the credit for it.

His selfless acceptance speech speaks volumes for the measure of the man.

For him, it is all about the club, its players and the fans.

He puts so much of himself into United and continues to deflect praise.

Over the last week we’ve seen a street transformed into Bielsa Way and the Argentine has even had a penguin named after him at Lotherthon Hall.

But now we must seriously look as a city as to how we truly show our appreciation to a man who means so much to Leeds.
