Time to get rail service back on track after Leeds to Harrogate train named country's most cancelled service - the YEP says

It’s probably little surprise to commuters that the country’s most cancelled train service is right here in Leeds.

Fuming passengers have dubbed the 7.13am Harrogate to Leeds service the “unicorn train”.

It comes after a damning report revealed half of the trains did not run - it was cancelled 28 days in a 55 day period from December 15 to February 22.

For many frustrated passengers they are faced with a daily lottery about whether their service will turn up in the first place.

We’ve heard first hand the impact it has on people’s lives and livelihoods as they rely on services like this to get to and from their places of work on a daily basis.

Northern has now been taken under Government control and we can only hope that they help to get this service on track once and for all.

And the YEP will be watching tomorrow’s Budget announcement closely to see how the government really intends to “level up” the North once and for all - and they need to pick up the pace quickly!
