Reopening is just next step in the battle for hospitality sector - the YEP says

For many businesses across Leeds, today could be the next major milestone towards their planned recovery.

The Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to announce that the hospitality sector can reopen from July 4 and it will be a welcome reprieve for many firms.

Those that have managed to survive the impact of the pandemic will already be well on with their preparations to welcome back customers in a safe and common sense approach.

Many in the hospitality sector were forced to put their livelihoods on pause after the lockdown swept the country in March.

And sadly, we have seen some businesses make the decision to close their doors for good as the weeks passed by.

For those now looking forward to the day they can open their doors once again, there are still real challenges ahead.

They will need to ensure that their businesses not only survive, but also thrive against a tough economic backdrop and very different circumstances from when they last opened their doors.
