Marcelo Bielsa, thank you for bringing joy to the city of Leeds - the YEP says
Just watch one game and it is easy to understand how much of himself Marcelo Bielsa puts into managing the club.
He never asks for the plaudits or the limelight - his interview at the weekend after the club were crowned champions of the league makes that clear. Speaking after the club’s victory at Derby he said: “The prize has to be for the players because they did the most important thing.”

Hide AdBut today the city of Leeds is sending its most sincere and heartfelt thanks to the manager who made so many Leeds United fans’ dreams come true at the weekend as the club returned to top flight football in style.
And what better day to call for that recognition than on Bielsa’s birthday, too.
We do however acknowledge the fact that Marcelo might be reluctant to take the limelight for himself.
But the groundswell of support from across the city of Leeds and the fans themselves show just how grateful we are to you.
Happy birthday.
