"The Yorkshire Pirlo", as he is affectionately known in LS11, Kalvin Phillips was tasked by Bielsa with protecting and patrolling the Whites’ backline in their pursuit of Premier League football.

So it comes as no surprise that our hometown hero has had a call up to play for the England squad.

The midfield maestro has been included in Gareth Southgate’s 24-man squad for next month’s Nations League games against Iceland and Denmark.

Such is the adoration for Phillips that there is no doubt he will not only continue to inspire fans in Leeds but further afield.

And the words of the song that those adoring fans sing on the terraces certainly ring true today.

He’s magic, you know!
