Are you still celebrating? So you should be! We all know as Leeds United fans how important it was to not only gain promotion, but also to do it automatically so we could avoid the dreaded playoffs.

Well it turns out we had nothing to worry about.

The season ended in a way that we could never have dared to dream of, as worthy champions with a 10 point gap over second place.

The Trust issued an open letter in the Yorkshire Evening Post to Marcelo Bielsa, to thank him personally for his huge part in taking the club back to where it belongs.

It would simply not have been possible, in that style and determination to succeed, without Marcelo at the helm.

It’s hard to pick one player for special praise because it was always such a complete team performance.

But the Trust have been keeping track by running a vote on social media after every game, which received a massive 81,000 votes in total over the whole season.

The player with the most Man of the Match performances, as voted for by you the fans, had the honour of receiving our Paul Madeley Memorial Award for our Player of the Year.

For the second year running, we were delighted to present the award to Kalvin Phillips, a Leeds man through and through. Thanks to James Mooney at the club for arranging the presentation.

We look forward to Kalvin showing off his skills in the Premier League next season and getting the inevitable first of many England caps.

The Premier League will bring new challenges for the club. For a whole generation of fans, this will be their first taste of top flight football.

The Trust has been preparing in the background and we will continue our dialogue with the club management on important issues.

Most recently this includes ticketing rebates and when the promised club shop vouchers for last season will be issued to fans.

It also includes the ticketing, membership fees and attendance plans for next season.

It is no coincidence that promotion has finally been achieved when we’ve had the best ownership and management of the club in a long, long time, but the Trust’s role will always be to work hard with the custodians of the club on behalf of you devoted fans.

It’s also important at this time of celebration to remember heroes from the club’s history.

The Trust is involved in discussions to commemorate the late, great, Jack Charlton within the city of Leeds. Big Jack was also a hero in Ashington and the Trust fully supports the efforts of Liam Lavery at Ashington Town Council in their bid to get a statue of him in his beloved hometown.
