The 2.6 Challenge is going this extra mile for charity – The Yorkshire Post says

Yet, just like all those elite athletes and fun runners who were due to have undertaken the London Marathon, they do know that charities, large and small, are now in their own race against time.

They count on sponsorship raised by the Marathon – and countless other events now cancelled – to fund their priceless work. Without it, they will struggle.

As such, they can – and should – take heart from all those who took up the 2.6 Challenge, as opposed to the 26 miles of the capital, and completed events of their own in their back gardens to raise money for their chosen charities. Rest assured, such marathon efforts, and also the inspiring example that has been set by Yorkshire’s very own Captain Tom Moore, will make a difference...in the long run.
