Are drug gangs targeting your kids on social media? This is what parents need to know - the YEP says
For any parent trying to navigate their way around social media with their children can be a challenge at the best of times.
But brazen criminal gangs are now stooping to new extremes to target youngsters as part of their enterprise to sell drugs.
And it’s happening right here on our city’s streets.
Drugs gangs have hired professional music producers to make YouTube videos to recruit children to deal cocaine and heroin.
They are also using bribes on social media websites by luring them with lucrative posts with them armed with wads of cash and designer clothing.
As one police chief told the YEP: “For parents and school staff we advise that if they haven’t got an eye on children in a positive way, someone may have a negative eye on them.”
So ask this question, do you know what your child is doing on social media?
