Act of kindness at Leeds Children’s Hospital lifts spirits of all - the YEP says

That strain is particularly felt during the Christmas period - and this year has been one like no other.

With strict measures in place, access to the city’s hospital wards is restricted to stop coronavirus spreading among patients, their families and hospital staff.

And Santa Claus was no exception after he was also prevented from his annual visit to Leeds Children’s Hospital.

But he proved he had a head for heights after enlisting the help of a cherry picker and a loudspeaker to make sure that young patients still had a festive visit yesterday.

After such a difficult year and with a little creative thinking it helped to raise smiles for brave youngsters who face spending their Christmas in hospital.

And this small act of kindness reminds us that despite these challenging times just a little spread of festive spirit will have given others a little lift when they needed it most.
