Open day at environment centre in south Leeds

AN open day is being held at Skelton Grange Environment Centre in Stourton this weekend.

Conservation Volunteers are inviting families are being invited to the open day from 11am to 4pm on Saturday. Latest attractions at the centre on Skelton Grange Road include a new vegetable garden, meadows, bee hives and bird boxes.

Ralph Walker of Skelton Grange, said: “We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our volunteers for all the hard work they have put into the project over the past year. We’ve been tremendously busy with new developments across the site and we’d like to invite the public to come and see what we’ve been up to and find out a little more about The Conservation Volunteers’ charitable work.” The open day is supported by Big Lottery, National Grid, Biffaward, Leeds City Council’s Inner South Area Management Committee and Grow Wild.
