A pair of Star Wars nerds have sent this X-Wing and Tie Fighter to where no others have gone before - to dogfight in space.

Pals Matt Kingsnorth and Phil St. Pier (corr) have made it their mission over the past 18 months to pitch a Millennium Falcon, X-Wing and Tie Fighter against each other. Using a helium balloon to launch the ships, in March Matt and Phil launched an X-Wing and Tie Fighter into space attaching cameras to the balloon to capture the moment. The pair, who have uploaded videos of their missions say they want to be extras in the next movie but have so far been “completely blanked” by JJ Abrams.
