Amateur rugby player Tom McLean, who plays for Brixham in Devon has become an Internet star after his video of his schoolboy error was watched by more than half a million people.

McLean, who plays in the centre for the National Three South West league team, was caught on camera ‘celebrating’ after scoring a try 10 minutes from time in the Devon derby with Barnstaple at Pottington Road. But there was just one problem with the score - the line McLean dived over was not the try line but the five-metre line before it. The moment was caught on camera by Barry Thomas, a coach for Brixham.
