Have your say

Taking the pill doesn’t just stop you getting pregnant but also protects your knees, scientists have discovered. Researchers found that women on the pill were less likely to suffer serious knee injuries. The team from the University of Texas Medical Branch claim that the pill lessens and stabilises the levels of oestrogen which can weaken the cruciate ligament if left unchecked. Cruciate ligament damage is common to footballers and has threatened or ended the careers of Paul Gascoigne, Brazilian wizard Ronaldo and Craig Bellamy.
