Video: A pop up shop selling everyday essentials from just 10p

Have your say

The most expensive item is just 70p at “social supermarket” Niftie’s set up to help cash-strapped families in Dover.

The shop will be open till Friday but if it proves a roaring success the shop may stay open for longer. The shop in the Charlton Shopping Centre was the brainchild of parents of three Nathaniel Richards and wife Bethanie, both 25. Nathaniel said: “Our approach is really simple; we purchase reduced products, such as short dated or damaged items from supermarkets and other stores, and pass these savings on to our customers. “These products are still within their use-by dates, so they are perfectly edible.”
