Have you or your family recently taken photos of a special moment you want to share?
Now the new-look Yorkshire Evening Post has hit the streets, we’re inviting you to display snaps of your memorable occasions in a Celebrations round-up every Saturday.
The pages will be packed with photos which capture special family moments, whether that be a birthday, christening, engagement, wedding, graduation, reunion or just a family party.
The pictures don’t have to be professional quality, we’re simply looking for images that convey the spirit of your happy event. Last Saturday, for the first ever Celebrations page, we featured Phyllis Hodkinson’s 100th birthday party.
The Yew Tree Court resident was pictured with her son John, 76, alongside photos from throughout her life, including at her wedding to Eric in Wortley in 1935.
YEP managing editor Nicola Furbisher said: “We know that a newspaper is nothing without its readers and that’s why we want to play a part in their celebrations. We can’t wait for the pictures to arrive!”
Photos can be submitted via our website www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or tweeted to @LeedsNews.
** The Celebrations page is one of the many additions to the redesigned paper, which launched last Monday.
Alongside our existing range of stories and features, we have introduced a wealth of freshcontent including a daily ‘zone page’ to highlight news in specific parts of Leeds and a weekly section called Thank God It’s Friday, dedicated to the city’s booming entertainment and nightlife scene. Two TGIF pages are given over to City Buzz, a look at what’s hip and happening in Leeds penned by our girl about town Juliette Bains
