SUPER-fit personal trainer Lucy Harrison has shown how ‘flipping mad’ she is - by setting herself a gruelling charity challenge with a tractor tyre.
The 24-year-old, of Pudsey, is going to try and flip the tractor tyre - which weighs in at 75kg - 1,000 times around a city centre car park, a feat she believes has never been done before.
Despite being at peak fitness, Lucy, who works at Motive8 North fitness studio, said flipping the tyre 10 times is hard work, let alone 1,000, but is so far up to 600 flips in training.
She said: “I’d been thinking of a way to raise money for charity and wanted to do something a bit different.
“So I thought I’d set myself a challenge of flipping tyres. I wanted to do something that was going to take a lot of training, so decided on 1,000.
“People say ‘You’re absolutely insane’. I know it’s going to be one of the toughest things I have ever done.
“It’s very much trial and error. I could be doing fine but it’s going to come down to those last 300. Being realistic, I think it will take me 10 hours. But it will take as long as it takes.”
Lucy will be raising money for the Take One Moment charity, set up in memory of her cousin Tom Atkinson, from near Driffield, who was killed as a passenger in a road accident abroad when he was just 19.
Lucy will be flipping tyres around Motive8 North’s car park, on Marshall Street, Leeds, on Saturday September 20.
