A BRAND new bar is hoping to become top dog when it opens in Leeds city centre.
The city’s ‘Northern Quarter’ is already home to the likes of The Reliance, Sandinista, Belgrave Music Hall, plus Merrion Street favourites Mojo and Verve and relative newbies Manahatta and Brotherhood.
But now there’s a new dog on the block.
BrewDog will offer some healthy competition as it opens its second Leeds venue on the corner of North Street and New York Road.
The new site is nestled underneath 84 swanky flats at Crispin Lofts – a historic Grade II-listed building – and will include a 4,060sq ft bar set over two floors with an impressive curved glass front.
It’s big news for Leeds to attract business from such a huge company (BrewDog is expected to turnover around £32m this year from its 25 bars around the world).
And although City Buzz has been told things are still in the early stages, it’s not stopped us getting excited about the plans.
Things are really looking up for this side of the city, and you’d have to be barking (sorry) to think the Northern Quarter wasn’t fast becoming one of the best places to be.
