COCKTAILS in the City and Leeds Loves Cocktails both seem like distant memories now.
But fear not cocktail fans, as a new pop-up bar is about to step into the void.
The Rum Shack is opening in between Belgrave Music Hall and Sandinista next week, serving up summer cocktails and, well, rum.
There will be rum tasting events, a cocktail list that changes regularly and takeovers with bartenders from across the city moving into the shack to showcase their own creations.
The Rum Shack is at the former Hogarth’s Gin Joint on Cross Belgrave Street.
It’s being run by three Leeds bartenders – Bruce Lerman from Epernay, Dan Crowther from Sandinista and Tom Finnon from Smokestack.
The trio are behind Hedonist Drinks and have 30 years of experience in the bar industry between them.
Dan said: “We just wanted to bring something new to Leeds.”
The pop-up bar will change theme every few months, but it’s just a side project for these three though, as they soon hope to open their own venue in the city centre soon.
The Rum Shack opens to the public on Friday, June 26 and runs until September 5.
