Calorie counting restaurant set to open in Leeds

Have your say

FOR anyone out there trying to maintain a healthy diet, I imagine walking around the city centre can be quite difficult at times.

I’m thinking specifically about the Commercial Street and Albion Place area here, which is impossible to walk down without the smell of Byron Burger and MeatLiquor tempting you in.

If you’re strong enough to make it past those, you quickly move onto Thornton’s and the food vans dotted around outside WH Smith. There is no escape.

But City Buzz has heard some interesting news that could change all that.

According to our sources, itsu could be taking over the former Barratts shoe shop site on the corner of Commercial Street and the Trinity Leeds shopping centre.

The food venue serves low fat, low calorie (but still tasty) food, such as protein-packed salads and chicken noodle soups.

Meals start at 180 calories and even the drinks are all low sugar.

The Chelsea and Notting Hill restaurants are both award-winning sites, so we’re excited to see what could be in store at the new Leeds venture.
