One of the region’s leading employers has revealed plans to create 90 new jobs at its Leeds headquarters.

A major recruitment drive is now under way for Sky Betting and Gaming, one of the country’s leading betting and gaming companies, as it invests in its growing team.

The new positions, based in Sky Bet’s offices in Wellington Place, Leeds city centre, have been created as a result of the rapid expansion of the online betting business over the last 12 months.

Richard Flint, managing director at Sky Betting and Gaming, said: “This is a really exciting time for Sky Bet and I’m really pleased to be able to confirm that we are continuing to invest in Yorkshire with the recruitment of 90 new team members as we continue to grow our business.

“Just last month we announced that Sky Betting and Gaming is to become an independent company in a deal which values the business at £800m.

“The expansion of Sky Bet over the last year means we now need more people to join a number of our departments here in Leeds.”

Mr Flint said there would be job opportunities in a range of departments across the business including technology, product development, marketing and customer service.

And he said the firm was “looking for the very best individuals, which is often more about candidates having the right attitude and potential rather than solely focusing on experience”.

He added: “We do everything we can to provide the right environment that delivers job satisfaction, fulfilment and which also nurtures talent.”

Sky Bet, which also runs gaming websites such as Sky Vegas and the odds comparison site Oddschecker, already employs more than 500 staff in Leeds, having moved to the city from Harrogate in 2010.
