A CHIC new restaurant serving afternoon tea is set to open at a Leeds shopping centre.

City Buzz can reveal that Creams will be joining the line-up at The Core in Leeds city centre, selling everything from macaroons to full-on meals.

When we told you last week about the revamp work going on at the shopping centre it certainly got you talking.

The Core is currently having an overhaul (worth £2.4million) to turn what was once a forgotten site into a food and drink destination in a bid to attract names to fill the units.

Creams – which already has a site in Huddersfield and plans to expand to Dubai – is jumping on board to offer an afternoon tea experience complete with chandeliers, live pianists, cupcakes and cake pops.

Alongside the restaurant, Creams – which is owned by two Yorkshire brothers – will open a carriage-style food stall near HMV on Lands Lane for people wanting to grab a cake and a cuppa on the go.

We hope it’s the new addition The Core needs to attract some more visitors but time will tell.

One of the bosses told us the flagship site certainly has the ‘wow’ factor, so we’re excited to see what sweet treats might be in store when it opens in March.
