They work in all kinds of health settings and we want to hear about top-notch nurses who go above and beyond to provide great care.
We’re looking for the creme de la creme of the nursing crop.
Our Nurse of the Year award, sponsored by Hays Medical Recruitment, will recognise nurses who are dedicated and devoted to each and every one of their patients.
Whether they work on hospital wards, in the community or elsewhere, we want to know about why the deserve to be given this accolade.
They could be a practice nurse in a GP surgery, providing care to patients with a whole range of conditions.
Or they might be working in another health care setting, such as last year’s winner Lynn Cowling.
The palliative care nurse at Wheatfields Hospice in Headingley, Leeds, was recognised for her unstinting dedication to her job, including giving out her home number to patients.
She was named the winner after the judges were touched by a nomination that described how much she meant to patient with terminal cancer.
The patient’s husband said that without Lynn, his wife’s last few months would have been “almost unbearable” and they “could not have managed without her”.
This year, we’re looking for a nurse who is just as impressive and also could be dubbed an “angel” of their profession.
