A team of volunteers got their hands dirty to begin work on a new outdoor classroom at Meanwood Valley Urban Farm.

The 14-strong group from Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) helped to lay the foundations, stain the timber and tidy up the surrounding gardens.

It is hoped that the £10K classroom, funded by the YBS Lasting Legacy Fund, will be finished by the end of this year.

Farm director Susan Reddington MBE said: “The support of the enthusiastic volunteers is amazing. We are so fortunate to have this support from an organisation that is committed to the community.”
