No Sunday parking charges in Wakefield

Have your say

COUNCIL chiefs in Wakefield have decided not introduce car parking charges on Sundays, Bank Holidays or evenings.

The local authority, which carried out a five-week public consultation on the proposals, said it decided not to go ahead following feedback from hundreds of residents. Coun Matthew Morley, said: “We have listened to residents and want to do everything we can support local businesses. We hope that by not introducing any additional charges we can continue to support our city and towns to thrive.”
