A new York style rooftop cocktail bar will open in Victoria Gate next month.
The announcement, by D&D Restaurants, comes just days after the group launched Japanese restaurant Issho.
The new bar will be called East 59th and is named after the street in New York where you can find D&D’s venue Guastavino’s.
It includes a menu inspired by modern American classics such as peppered pastrami bagel, Waldorf salad and steak, bar and terrace offering panoramic city views. It also takes inspiration from New York’s vibrant nightlife, and will host regular DJ events.
Paul Rogers, senior general manager, said: “Leeds’ nightlife scene is incredibly diverse and we’re excited to add something different to the offering.
“East 59th comes hot on the heels of the launch for Issho, and the two distinct venues are unique in their own way, offering something for everyone.”
Executive Chef Lee Murdoch, of Crafthouse and Angelica, also owned by the group, created the menu.
He said: “Guests will get a true taste of the New York food scene and we’re sure our cocktails and desserts, including our special sundae, will prove particularly popular.”
