The Homage 2 Fromage café took over LAB bar at the end of last year as a pop-up concept, and now, six months on, it has come to the end of its run.

The good news is that co-founders Vickie Rogerson and Nick Copland are looking to open another venue elsewhere in the city.

Whilst LAB says goodbye to the partnership, it is welcoming a fresh start as a brand new concept.

Plans are underway to turn the venue at the Merrion Centre into a Motown-inspired pizza parlour.

Matt Jones, managing director of the Jones Bar Group, which owns the site, said: “We will be turning the LAB into a new pop up Motown-inspired ‘all you can eat’ pizza parlour for six months opening towards the back end of April.”

Speaking about the previous cheese venture, he added: “We’ve really enjoyed working with Homage 2 Fromage and we’ve all learnt a lot about cheese.

“We wish Nick and Vickie lots of luck in their future cheesy adventures.”

Vickie from Homage 2 Fromage added: “We’ve been overwhelmed by everyone’s enthusiastic cheese-eating support and we hope we can open a new restaurant in the city soon.”

The Homage 2 Fromage café will host a special Cheese Feast farewell party when it closes on Saturday, April 16.

The details are yet to be revealed but tickets will be on sale soon.
