The potentially deadly consequences of legal highs are being highlighted by a new campaign in Leeds.

City leaders are working with drugs experts and West Yorkshire Police to warn young people of the “disastrous” effects the substances can have.

One former user has told the Yorkshire Evening Post how an addiction to a legal high ruined his life and led to him attempting suicide. He said the drugs were “a death sentence”.
