A new army cadet centre with a range of facilities has opened in Yeadon.

The purpose-built centre, near to Leeds Bradford Airport, which includes lecture rooms and outdoor drill facilities, replaces the recently demolished older building. Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland opened the new centre alongside Army Cadet Force staff.

Detachment Commander Staff Sgt Martin Hewitt said: “It is a marvellous facility and I am looking forward to filling this building again with cadets from Yeadon and surrounding areas, providing progressive training of a challenging yet exciting nature, fostering confidence, self-reliance and initiative.”
