New housing developments to launch in West Yorkshire

A housebuilder is to launch two new developments in West Yorkshire soon.

Redrow is to build in Wakefield at St John’s Mews, on the site of the former West Yorkshire Police training centre at Bishopgarth, off Westfield Road, and at City Fields, part of the new residential neighbourhood east of the city centre.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), said: “Between them these two developments will bring 235 new homes to Wakefield and a package of community benefits such as contributions to local education worth over £1 million. We’ll be helping communities to thrive, not just building homes.

“Our new developments will feature a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes in areas close to the city centre, with properties which are perfect for first-time buyers, families wishing to extend or couples seeking to downsize or ‘rightsize’ perhaps after children have flown the nest.

“There’s also a choice between our Arts and Crafts inspired Heritage Collection of family homes at City Fields, or the Georgian influenced townhouses of our Regent Collection at St John’s Mews. But whichever customers choose they will be assured of Redrow’s same attention to detail, superior specification and high levels of customer service.”

Redrow at City Fields is due to go on sale in June, with the sales launch for St John’s Mews scheduled a month later in July.

“Eager buyers can register their interest in either scheme now to ensure they get the first chance possible to reserve their ideal property,” Patsy added.

Redrow at City Fields, located off Aberford Road and just a short drive from the city centre, will be the first development to launch with prices expected to start from around £252,950.

It will offer a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes from Redrow’s award-winning Arts & Crafts-inspired Heritage Collection, which combines traditional exteriors with bright and modern open-plan interiors.

The semi-rural location forms part of a new urban extension promoted by Wakefield Council, just off the new Wakefield East Relief Road. The wider community will include a primary school, shops, heath facilities, parkland and green spaces, plus better access to the River Calder and the Aire and Calder Navigation canal.

Less than a mile from Wakefield centre, St John’s Mews in Westfield Road, will bring Redrow’s Georgian-inspired Regent Collection to the city.

A development of 112 new homes, it will feature two, three and four-bedroom properties, including three storey townhouses, with guide prices from around £169,950.

Show homes will be unveiled for both developments later this year.
