New homes development offers choice of properties

The first of two new developments by the same housebuilder has been launched in Wakefield.

The initial phase of three and four-bedroom homes from its Arts & Crafts inspired Heritage Collection is available to buy ‘off plan’ at Redrow's City Fields, off Aberford Road.

For those who buy now, before the show homes open, there is a choice of properties and position. An online My Redrow service allows buyers to personalise their home through choices and optional upgrades and extras.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire) said: “Our fully furnished show homes will be open at City Fields towards the end of the year, but astute buyers will realise that committing earlier gives them more options and the chance to buy at pre-show home prices."

City Fields will eventually comprise 123 two, three and four-bedroom new homes, including 37 affordable properties. It’s also contributing almost half a million pounds to local education through S106 contributions, that are attached to the planning consent.

The semi-rural location forms part of a new urban extension promoted by Wakefield Council, just off the new Wakefield East Relief Road.

The wider community will include a primary school, shops, health facilities, parkland and green spaces, plus better access to the River Calder and the Aire and Calder Navigation canal.

Available homes include the four-bedroom detached Cambridge at £359,950, a family home with detached garage, en-suite to master bedroom and an open plan kitchen, dining and living area overlooking the back garden through extra wide patio doors.

Homes at City Fields are available with the Government-backed Help to Buy equity loan, which can reduce the initial outlay by up to 20% and should mean a 5% deposit is sufficient to secure a brand new home.

Next to launch in Wakefield will be St John’s Mews, on the site of the old Bishopgarth police training centre, off Westfield Road. It will feature 112 two, three and four-bedroom homes from Redrow’s Georgian influenced Regent Collection.
