Nicola Adams is relishing her new-found freedom as a professional boxer as she plans to return to the ring towards the end of the year. Nicola, who was born in Leeds, saw off Maryan Salazar in May in her second paid contest since opting to switch after the successful defence of her Olympic title.
The 34-year-old said: “I have never had the chance to take a break before because I was always in training. and I could be boxing up to 40 times in a year. I find gearing everything towards one day is starting to suit me a lot more and just makes me hungrier when it is time to fight again.”
She is taking part in a 46-mile cycle later this month.
