A chameleon bar which changes its theme is preparing to become a world away from Leeds.

The Hedonist, on Briggate, is re-launching in April and City Buzz can reveal that the new vibe takes you on a trip around the world at the hands of the bar’s new character Olivia, The Hedonist.

The bar will have a clean and sleek atmosphere that welcomes you off the street and allows you to leave the real world behind.

Relax in comfortable, laid back seating and head off round the world with a drinks menu of cocktails and liquor that take the form of a travel guide featuring cities, regions and countries developed through imaginary character Hedonist’s experiences, the places she visits, local cultures, customs and memorabilia she finds along the way.

A three day closing party will see out the current theme from Thursday March 29 before the re-fit starts on Monday April 2.

It is expected that the new-look Hedonist will be ready by the first week in April with a grand launch party planned for April 13.

The Hedonist Project first launched in Leeds in spring 2015 as pop-up bar Hogarth’s Gin Joint based out of the Northern Quarter with the idea to reinvent the bar every few months.

The first notable concept change brought about The Rum Shack which proved an instant hit with Leeds locals as the bar sold over 800 bottles of rum in just over 10 weeks.

The project moved to 156 Briggate, where they set up a permanent bar launched as Liquor & Whisky.

Other concepts and style overhauls have led to incarnations as Old Tom’s Gin Kitchen, Trader Dan’s Surf Shack, the festive wintry delights of Mountain Lodge and whiskey dive bar 51st State all in partnership with spirit brands.
