This is a challenging and rewarding role and I look forward to working with Ron over the years to come. I would like to thank Clare Morrow, our outgoing chair, for her tireless efforts over the last seven and a half years. Together we achieved some great successes, not least bringing the Tour de France to our county.”

Mr McMillan said:“I’ve seen the many great things that have been achieved by Welcome to Yorkshire over the last few years and I am very excited to be joining such an innovative organisation. I am looking forward to playing my part in increasing the profile of Yorkshire in the UK and around the world.”
