National Conference League: Full-steam ahead for Stanningley in division two

The Leeds side top the table and continued their impressive form with a 42-16 win at Hull Dockers in which Liam Copland scored 26 points from four tries and five goals.

Stanningley produced a blistering second-half performance after the sides had been deadlocked at 16-16 on 42 minutes. Steve Welton, Luke Townend, Dean Parker and Ben Selby also touched down for Stanningley.

East Leeds hit back from 12-0 down after eight minutes to defeat Saddleworth Rangers 30-24. Dave Nurse touched down twice for Easts, Johnny Carter, Brandon Crosland, Jack Norfolk and Kai Simpson also crossed and Mark Greenwood (2) and Tim Norfolk added goals.

Hunslet Warriors are in danger of being dragged into a relegation battle after a 6-4 home defeat to Leigh East. The sin-binning of Connor Jordan on 37 minutes, for a dangerous tackle, was the key moment as Leigh scored a converted try against the 12 men.

Nathan Clapham replied for the Warriors immediately after Jordan’s return.

Milford Marlins are up to second in Division One after a 32-28 victory over promotion rivals Lock Lane.

Oulton Raiders were beaten 22-10 by visitors Pilkington Recs.

Dec Storey and Lee Gomersall touched down and Jordan Gale booted a goal for Oulton who had Rob Stanley sent off on 68 minutes for alleged contact with a match official.

Premier Division leaders Hunslet Club Parkside extended their 100 per cent record to seven games with a 26-0 home win over lowly Wigan St Patrick’s.

Danny Rowse was man of the match for Parkside, whose try scorers were Dale Harris (2), Jamie Fields, who also kicked five goals, and Craig McShane.
