She captured the hearts of TV viewers across the land during her winning run on The Great British Bake Off.
Now Nadiya Hussain is set to serve up a tasty treat for her fans in her adopted home city of Leeds.
Nadiya will be hosting a cookery demonstration at the Merrion Centre on Thursday, December 10, it has been announced.
And although she recently moved down south to make the most of the exciting openings that have come with her newfound fame, the mum-of-three can’t wait to get back to Yorkshire for the event.
Nadiya said: “I’ve lived in Leeds for the last 10 years and it’s an honour to host my own bakery session in a familiar venue.
“Winning the Bake Off means I’ve been travelling lots and had some great opportunities, but despite this, being back in Leeds, in recognisable surroundings, is really comforting.”
Nadiya will be teaching shoppers how to rustle up some of her trademark dishes, including cheese and tomato spiral biscuits and cardamom and coconut whoopie pies.
Retailers will also be offering a range of mouthwatering baked items free of charge.
Cassie Turner, events and marketing planner at the Merrion Centre, said: “As a city I think it’s fair to say we were all behind Nadiya and delighted she was crowned Bake Off champion 2015.
“We know a lot of our shoppers are die-hard foodies and we’re thrilled that we’re able to offer them some free advice and free samples, hopefully it will provide a little bit of inspiration for their own Christmas party menus.”
The cookery demonstration will run from 12.30pm to 3pm.
