LIFELONG Leeds United fan, Kaiser Chiefs bassist Simon Rix helped unveil a mural dedicated to the team that catapulted the club to league triumph.

Midfield quartet Gary Speed, David Batty, Gary McAllister and Gordon Strachan, who were integral to the club’s 1992 league title win, have been immortalised on a new mural near Elland Road. The public artwork was commissioned by the Leeds United Supporters’ Trust, and will greet fans heading from south of the city, passing through the Lowfields Road tunnel.

Howard Wilkinson, the manager behind the 1992 success, features in the mural with trophy in hand.
