Mums and midwives put their best feet forward at Twin Walk in Leeds

MOTHERS, midwives and mini supporters put their best feet forward in a sponsored Twins Walk.

The event at Roundhay Park was organised by the Twins and Multiple Pregnancy team at St James’s Hospital and has raised more than £1,300 for the Lullaby Trust.

Dozens of former patients took part in the event with their families, including twins and triplets aged just 13 days old.

Organiser Karla Gibson said: “All the mums are going through the same thing and understand what it’s like to have twins and triplets. It’s a unique bond and they become great friends.

“The event was a great networking opportunity and it was a brilliant day out.”

The walk was such a success that it is hoped it will become an annual event.

The Lullaby Trust provides specialist support for bereaved families, as well as promoting advice on safe baby sleep and awareness about sudden infant death.
