morley’s parks are set for even more development, it was announced last week.

New proposals include a children’s slide at Churwell Park, an improved children’s play area for Dartmouth Park due in the New Year, and plans for a children’s play area in Lewisham Park.

Councillor Bob Getting said: “This is great news for local communities and shows the commitment the Parks section has to update and improve our well-loved parks.”

The improvements at Churwell and Dartmouth are expected early in the New Year with proposals for Lewisham Park likely to go out to public consultation at the same time.

It follows council plans to ramp up safety measures at playgrounds to curb anti-social behaviour in October.

Councillor Judith Elliott said: “We continue to work closely with local communities and the Parks Department to improve our playgrounds and public green spaces.”
