It is the family seat of the Earl and Countess of Harewood and one of the finest stately homes in Yorkshire.

And now, thanks to a partnership with a one Michelin star restaurant, Harewood House says it will be offering some of the finest food in the region as well.

Chief executive Mike Schafer announced yesterday that The Box Tree Restaurant in Ilkley will create and make their fine dining menu.

Rena and Simon Gueller, who own and manage Box Tree Events, met David Lascelles – the 8th Earl of Harewood – and Mr Schafer on the State Floor of the home in north Leeds.

Mr Schafer said: “We have some of the finest architecture and interiors in the country and our hospitality needs to compliment our environment.

“As a multi-award winning and Michelin Starred Restaurant, The Box Tree is held in the highest regard in the culinary world - their service, menus and wines are revered, not just regionally but also nationally.”

The menu will combine French classics with modern English twists and be served in the State Floor dining area, the Below Stairs room or on the Terrace.
