A memorial service to celebrate the life of Leeds teacher Ann Maguire, who was stabbed to death in her classroom earlier this year, will be held next week.
The service will take place at Leeds Town Hall on Monday September 29 at 12pm.
Members of the public are invited to the event to celebrate Mrs Maguire’s life and teaching career, which spanned more than 40 years.
The memorial service has been planned with Mrs Maguire’s family, who are expected to attend.
Staff and students from Corpus Christi Catholic College, where Mrs Maguire worked, as well as representatives from schools across the city are also expected to attend.
Seating inside the Town Hall will be limited, so members of the public are advised to arrive early. Doors will open at 11.15am.
The service will include a minute’s silence at 12.30pm, which the public are invited to take part in.
A section of The Headrow in front of the Town Hall will be closed from 11.30am to 2pm.
Some parking restrictions will also be in place throughout the day.
