a fundraising meal in memory of Jo Cox, arranged by the More in Common group, raised over £40,000 in one evening.

The meal was held at Aakash Restaurant in Cleckheaton, and was attended by local businesses and some well known faces from across Yorkshire.

All of the proceeds raised at the meal will be used to fund work by the Batley and Spen More in Common group, chaired by Kim Leadbeater, the sister of the murdered MP.

She said: “It was a very moving and emotional evening. It was truly wonderful to see so many people from all across our community come together to raise the funds, we can’t thank them enough.”
