Man rescued after incident on Leeds railway bridge

A man was helped by police after being seen behaving erratically on a railway bridge in Leeds.

Members of the public reported concerns for the man after spotting him on the bridge above Selby Road in Halton at 7.30pm on Sunday evening.

West Yorkshire and British Transport Police officers both attended and a trained negotiator helped to bring him down safely.

The incident lasted around an hour and caused trains on the line to be halted.
