Police are looking for this man after a woman who apologised for bumping into a train passenger was racially abused.

The incident happened after the 34-year-old woman, from North Yorkshire, got on a train to Leeds with her husband at Garforth railway station.

PC Ian Connor, of British Transport Police (BTP), said: “As it left Garforth her foot accidentally knocked the foot of a man.

“She apologised immediately but the man became aggressive and subjected her to a tirade of foul language and racist abuse.”

Her abuser got off the train at Leeds before getting on a service to Manchester Victoria.

The incident happened on board the 8.30am service on Thursday, May 28.

Anyone with information should call BTP on 0800 405040.
